LECTURES

Week 7:

Week 7(A): Lecture Notes

Supplementary Notes:

Week 7(B): Lecture Notes

Week 8: There is no class during Independent Learning Week.

Week 9: There are no lecture videos for the rest of this module. We had to upload a draft of our research instrument via Google Drive.

Week 10: We were advised to have completed reading through the Week 7 slides and supplementary videos and show progression during the tutorial session.

INSTRUCTIONS

RESEARCH DESIGN - PRIMARY DATA

Week 9:

After reading the slides and reading materials provided, I came up with my proposed research instrument.

Week 10:

During the tutorial session, I took notes of the changes I should amend to the primary data draft. Dr. Hayati suggests we start designing in Google Forms to view it from the perception of the respondent.

Week 12:

I managed to make the necessary changes based on Dr. Hayati's feedback via Telegram. After receiving the approval for distribution, I distributed it to various platforms from 10 November 2021.

FEEDBACK

Week 8
There is no class during Independent Learning Week.

Week 9
No feedback since the lecturer is on medical leave. Our attendance is taken through our work progression on Google Drive.

Week 10
Specific Feedback:
I should look back on my research proposal and develop further research objectives to balance out my research questions. Dr. Hayati made suggestions for me to improve the design of my questions. Although, she was more interested in me executing the focus group.

For the survey, I should change the placement of the links to the video advertisements and put the subsequent questions after that. Remember to put a disclaimer of confidentiality and a message of gratitude before the survey begins/
Some of my questions were too open-ended and I should have an option to ‘please describe further.’

Week 11
No feedback since there was no class. (Deepavali Public Holiday) However, we are allowed to communicate to Dr. Hayati via Telegram to gain feedback about the design of our survey.

Some of the feedback that Dr. Hayati suggested I make to my survey form are:
-specify the location question
-use (always/often/sometimes/rarely) instead of percentages
-describe why they need to watch all the 4 videos
-give a definition of motion graphic and screencaps of the videos
-ask subsequent questions after each video advertisement
- label each 4 video

Week 12
Specific Feedback:

Dr. Hayati commended the improvement of my survey form. She mentioned it was way better than the first draft I showed her. I should also aim to get more than the minimum requirement of respondents.

Since I already have a few international respondents, I should continue to try to share my survey through mutuals to receive more overseas perspectives. Refer back to my Research Objective and Questions and analyze the responses I received, whether they will help me as a future motion graphic artist.
