Project 2
Idea Pitch
I decided to go with idea #3, which is to create a channel bumper for Good Vibes Festival.
Main Source of Video & Photography
This is the official video by GoodVibesFestival of the concert in 2019. The majority of footage of the concert was taken from here into my final output.
This is the official page on Facebook where all the photos of each concert are uploaded. Hence, I used this as a platform to source out photos of the concert attendees.
Moodboard
Adding on the idea pitch moodboard, I wanted to highlight the experience of being at the concert again (since the pandemic hit) to the viewers. Hence, I planned to add footage of the people at the concert so people can reminisce as they watch to bring them back to that feeling and what 'GoodVibesFestival' was all about. Being surrounded with good music and your friends!
The organizer doesn't really have a brand identity as it changes every year. However, what they do highlight are the words 'Good Vibes'.
Therefore, I created my own identity of the 'collage and torn paper effect', including old technology like a film effect as well as an old television. This goes back to the nostalgia concept I had to refresh the people's memories of the concert.

This was my initial storyboard to how I want the video flow to be.
*Note: There maybe some changes to the final outcome compared to the initial proposed storyboard.
Technical Processes
After Effects
I set up the ransom note letters and animated each letter into After Effects. The outcome of this is then exported with Alpha channel into Premiere Pro.

Title Intro
- Using the Transform tools, (Scale, Position, Rotation, Opacity) I animated each word 'Good' / 'Vibes' / 'Festival'
Kinetic Type
- I animated text to pop out on top of live footage.
Overlays
- The movement of the overlays are also constructed in AE first. For example, the tv and the torn paper.
Premiere Pro
Intro
- Cutout Effect
Using mask path via pen tool, I cut out elements of each photo and layer them on top of each other.

I used several audio for the background music of this channel bumper. Each featured artist has a song of their own on top of the general background instrumental. I did additional edits other than transition and audio level adjustment to the each bgm. To avoid the bgm to produce very sharp sounds, I used Hard Limiter and Dynamics to compress it slightly.

I changed the audio to only have one track and this is my attempt. The final version is revised based on feedback.

Week 6
General Feedback:
We are not creating the content from scratch, we are simply compiling resources and creating a remix of those content into one final output. The workflow he suggests is for us to work on the motion graphic animation in After Effects, followed by the final editing of the video in Premiere Pro where we edit the music, blending mode etc. to create a more dynamic video.

Specific Feedback:
There are pros and cons to my ideas. Mr Fauzi suggests I go for ideas #2 and #3. Idea #1 has a good reference but it will be time-consuming because I have to design the illustrations etc. Idea #2 would highlight my strengths as he has seen my work in the previous project that I have done well. Idea #3 is great as I can use existing resources, compile, and merge them all into one.

The visuals to my channel bumper is good, but the audio needs to be revised. It is no doubt difficult to edit sound for a really short video. Mr Fauzi suggests that I only put one track, dominant audio that is catchy and it doesn't have to relate to the festival.

I also have to revise some of the text as they are not readable against a white background. As the output is from the client's point of view - it is important for them to have their logo branding visible. Hence, we have to establish the logo placement in our content properly.
In order to have good continuity to my Project 3, I am advised to change the copywriting of my channel bumper - initially a possible upcoming lineup to a past lineup that has happened already. Several adjustments are to be made because my video output has good potential that I can use for my portfolio.
